These dried Brown Shimeji mushrooms are a great way of storing mushrooms for a long period of time. They provide a large amount of taste in a small form factor. Brown Shimeji mushrooms are known for being a relatively small mushroom with a thick, short stem and medium-sized caps. They are similar to the White Shimeji mushrooms and are described to have a savoury, umami and nutty flavour and a crunchy yet sucullent texture when cooked. They are usually paired in noodle dishes. Their distinct flavour is unique compared to other mushrooms. This mushroom can be used to promote a healthy lifestyle.
When rehydrated, these dried mushrooms can increase their weight by approximately 10 times. They can then be used normally as you would with the fresh variant of this mushroom or used to add taste to dishes.

Our dried mushrooms are certified by KLBD as being cultivated and packed in an insect free environment. This process includes rigorous insect checks which means that we are able to guarantee that there will be no insects present in your mushrooms.
Use Information
These mushrooms can be rehydrated by putting them in water for 20 minutes before use. This will allow the dried mushrooms to reabsorb water content by approximately 10 times, allowing them to reach almost the same water level as the fresh variant.
Whilst this is a great way of utilising these mushrooms, chefs use them as seasoning to add taste to their dishes by crushing them up into powder or small pieces and sprinkling them on top of their dish.

Keep stored in a dark place and at ambient temperature. Check best before date on label.
Note: With every opening, the mushrooms will begin absorbing moisture from the air. We recommend that once opened, you use them as soon as possible.
