The mushrooms I ordered arrived safely and well packaged. We'll be having mushroom risotto tonight. I can't wait to try them, especially the lion's mane mushrooms as I've been taking lion's mane tablets for some time now but am curious to know what the raw mushrooms are like.

Sustainable and Ecological Mushroom Cultivation

The substrates that we utilise are made from residues of what would have been burnt raw materials. By growing our mushrooms on these substrates, we are reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emissions associated with the discarding of such materials.

These transformed residues are excellent for mushroom cultivation as the powerful decomposing power of fungi breaks down this substrate and transforms it into a great fertiliser for soil.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSHROOMS

Since ancient times, people have learnt to select and eat mushrooms through ‘mycology’ – the study of fungi. With mushrooms being one of the earliest forms of life on Earth, knowing about them is crucial. Being master decomposers, mushrooms have been able to live and adapt to changing conditions on our planet and are the foundation to life as we know it.

Without mushrooms, we wouldn't be where we are now.
